Our Heritage
Born on the
Santa Ana
Volcano
In 1952, Roberto Morales planted his first Bourbon trees on the volcanic slopes of Santa Ana — a ridge most considered too steep, too remote, too extreme. He called it a find. His family named it Finders Coffee.
We farm 280 hectares at elevations between 1,500 and 1,900 metres, where the volcanic soil and cool mountain air slow the ripening of each cherry to a pace that concentrates extraordinary sweetness, clarity, and depth.

The Terroir of Perfection
Six natural advantages converge here, on the slopes of Santa Ana. Together they produce a cup no other farm on earth can replicate.
Volcanic Soil
The Santa Ana volcano provides one of the world's most mineral-rich soils — deep, well-draining, and alive with nutrients that fuel extraordinary cherry development.
01High Altitude
Our highest plots sit at 1,900 m above sea level. Cool air slows cherry ripening dramatically, concentrating every sugar and aromatic compound in the bean.
02Consistent Rainfall
El Salvador's precise wet and dry seasons create a predictable development cycle we've mastered over five generations — consistent excellence, every harvest.
0318°C Day/Night Swing
Wide temperature differentials between day and night protect bright acidity and generate the complex aromatic compounds that define Finders Reserve lots.
04Shade-Grown Canopy
Over 9,000 native shade trees slow photosynthesis, stress the plants productively, and protect 180+ bird species including migratory warblers from North America.
05100% Hand Harvest
Every cherry on every tree is assessed before picking. Our selection rate — accepting only the ripest 30% — is among the highest recorded in the world.
06From Tree to Cup
A Process
Without
Compromise
Selective Hand Picking
Our pickers, trained over years, select only cherries at precise Brix readings of 22–26°. Each passes through three human inspections before processing begins.
24-Hour Flotation Sort
Cherries float in cold spring water for 24 hours, eliminating under-ripes by density — a practice Finders pioneered in El Salvador in 2011.
Triple-Process Fermentation
We offer washed, natural, and honey process lots. Every fermentation tank is temperature-controlled and monitored hourly by our dedicated lab team.
Raised Bed Solar Drying
All lots dry on raised African beds for 18–35 days, rotated every two hours, until reaching exactly 10.5% moisture — never on tarps or concrete.
Rest, Mill & Cupping
Green beans rest for 60 days before milling. Every lot is cupped against a 92-point minimum before being approved for release under the Finders name.

What the World Says
Voices of the
Obsessed
I've cupped coffee on four continents. What Finders does on Santa Ana is unlike anything I've encountered. Santa Ana Lot 7 is a milestone — full stop.
Finders Coffee is proof that El Salvador belongs in the same conversation as Ethiopia and Colombia. Their 96.8 score is real, and it is deserved.
I clear my calendar when Finders releases a new lot. There is a clarity and sweetness in their washed Bourbons that I simply cannot find anywhere else on earth.
